Angelica Kontoroff, the principal of Kontoroff Law P.C., handles all aspects of trust and estate litigation matters.

Angelica’s experience includes representing clients with regard to, among other things, complex will contests and trust disputes, breach of fiduciary duty claims, fiduciary removal proceedings, construction claims, contested accountings, turnover and reverse turnover proceedings, a spousal right of election proceeding, and the appeal of a decision in a turnover proceeding.  She has made appearances in all the Surrogate’s Courts in the NYC metro area, as well as in Supreme Courts. In her probate and estate administration practice, Angelica focuses on maximizing value for beneficiaries, helping trustees and estate executors and administrators comply with their legal obligations, and defusing potentially asset-draining disputes.

Angelica founded Kontoroff Law P.C. in April 2016, after working as a partner of Lang & Kontoroff LLP, a firm that handled predominantly trust and estate litigation and probate and estate administration matters.  Before then, she worked as an associate of Law Offices of John F. Lang, the predecessor to Lang & Kontoroff LLP.

Angelica was selected to the New York Metro Rising Stars list by Super Lawyers magazine for the years 2016 through 2023. She has hosted various presentations on trusts and estates litigation, including on minimizing the risk of litigation in providing planning services and strategies for gaining leverage in will contests.

Angelica graduated Fordham University School of Law (J.D., cum laude), where she served as the Writing and Research Editor of the Fordham Intellectual Property, Media & Entertainment Law Journal, attained Dean’s List honors, and worked as a Teaching Assistant in the Legal Writing Program.  She also held judicial internships with the Honorable Jacqueline Silbermann, New York State Supreme Court, and the Honorable Kevin N. Fox, United States District Court for the Southern District of New York.

Before law school, Angelica graduated Macaulay Honors College of Brooklyn College of the City University of New York (B.S., Psychology and B.A., Philosophy, summa cum laude).
